To monitor the axle temperature of the train is one of the most important methods to protect security of the running train. The thesis researched and discussed the energy aware technology of the Axle Temperature Monitor System of the train based of the WSN(wireless sensor networks). Through applying to the energy aware technology in the system, energy consumption of the nodes can be reduced. It is of great importance on prolonging the life period of the nodes and insuring the security of the running train.First of all,this thesis analysis the characteristics of power consumption in the system,then ascertain the strategy and project,and established energy aware techniques. Author's main work concentrates as follows:1. Analysis the characteristics of power consumption in the system. Determine corresponding energy aware strategy and the project.2. Design of hardware. Design low power consumption sensor nodes through choosing low power consumption units. The node is composed of MSP430F2274 single chip computer, the nRF905 RF chip, the DS18B20 digital sensor, the FM24CL64 memory chip, and the MAX1678 power unit.3. Design of software. According to the IEEE802.15.4 technology develop a point-to-multipoint communication protocol of the system, design the simple data communication frame format. Design the work flow of the node.Through low power consumption design both software and hardware, the power consumption of the axle temperature monitor node can be reduced efficiently, to prolong the life period of the nodes and the system. The research achieved the anticipated target, with certain actual value.
