With the rapid development of China’s urbanization, the increase of the total area of public buildings and energy demand results in the increasingly growing proportion of building energy consumption in the total energy consumption. Construction has become the most energy-consuming field except for industrial and transportation. Because of the serious waste of energy, buliding energy saving becomes one of the major task to implement the plan of energy conservation and emission redution. The first step of realizing energy saving is to monitor and evaluate the condition and use of energy-consuming equipment. Therefore, the setting up of energy consumption monitoring system for large public buildings is of great importance for energy saving, which can remind users to save and use resources reasonably by showing all kinds of energy consumption data.The energy consumption monitoring system for large scale buildings is designed based on “Technical guidelines for energy consumption monitoring system of government office buildings and large public buildings”. By using Browser/Server architecture technology, serial communication technology and network communication technology, the system can collect and manage the energy consumption data of large scale buildings. This thesis focuses on the research of energy consumption data collector and energy consumption monitoring platform, and presents the hardware structure and the software design in detail. In the hardware design of data collector, Raspberry Pi is chosen as the core controller of the data collector which uses SD card as storage device. The collector communicates with measurement meters through RS-485 bus to get energy consumption data and communicates with remote data center through Internet to upload data. In the software part, the program of the energy consumption data acquisition system is programmed by Python under Linux platform. The collector has achieved following functions: information configuration, data acquisition, data analysis, data transmission, data storage, and so on. The software of remote monitoring platform used to analysis and display data is programmed by Visual C#.The system designed in this thesis has a lot of advantages such as: user friendliness, rich functions, good maintainability and extensibility. Now the system has been put into use in the buildings of Beijing Government Affairs Service Center. The results show that the system is reliable and effective, and meets the requirements of monitoring public building energy consumption data completely.
