The electrolytic trace water analyzer is a type of on-line water concentration measurement instrument which is based on absolute method. It is used in various fields, such as separating Nitrogen from Air, petrochemical industry, metallurgy and medical treatment, in order to measure the concentration of trace water in the process gas of these fields.Water content sensor is used in the intelligent inspection of water content of sample gas on-line, because this method relies on the theory of electrolytic measurement. During process of the inspection, it shows that the output of the sensor is determined by water content parameter. Furthermore the output date of the whole system is also changed when the temperature, flow-meter and pressure of sample gas is changed. The system has certain cross sensitivity about the temperature, flowmeter and pressure of sample gas and it can also affect the function of the whole system measurement precision and dynamic performance. Therefore, a new method to enhance the measurement performance of the water sensor is presented. In order to improve the measurement accuracy and robustness of the analyzer, poly multi-sensors technology is used to make a further inspection. Application of multi-sensors data technology to the intelligent instrument can improve the precision, dependability and fault tolerant ability of the intelligent instrument greatly. In this work, the advanced outside spiraltron structure of water sensor is developed from theory of electrolytic measurement, and the high performance electrolytic trace water analyzer is developed which is on the basis of ADuC812 single chip microcomputer. Experiments show the method has strong ability to overcome the effect of cross sensitivity about temperature, flowmeter and pressure of sample gas on the sensor and can enhance the dynamic performance.
