The Study On Swing And Motion Response In Towing Of Bucket Foundation Platform

Bucket foundation platform (BFP) is an up-to-date ocean platform in the world. It can insert into seabed itself through suction, which greatly decreases the construction and installation expense of platform.The cost of single oil and gas field will be reduced largely when the BFP is used in several oil and gas well site repeatedly. Therefore,BFP is named as the"New century's dawn of jacket foundation engineering".Nearly 500 millions tuns of total 1.4 billion tuns oil and gas reserves in China offshore areas belong to marginal oil and gas field,BFP will play an important role in China offshore oil and gas exploitation consequentially.The BFP research in China is still in its primary stage,Especially there is few date to be referenced for schemes of towing and response of structure under the waves. In the paper 3 models are designed that based on Bucket foundation platform of JZ9-3 with the scale of 1:10, 1:20, 1:15. And multi-schemes of towing are put forward. Primary concerns of this paper include following areas:1. The model design of bucket foundation platform and establishment of towing schemes: Design different scale models according to the JZ9-3, and give a main structure and the model size. Adopt the variety towing schemes, and confirm the best scheme.2. Model test of bucket foundation platform: The model test of bucket foundation platform, simulate motion response of moored bucket foundation platform under the action of wave.3. Analysis of towing resistance and structure response of bucket foundation platform: A method was developed for the towing resistance calculation of bucket foundation platform, i.e. separate the resistance into wave resistance, underwater shape resistance and friction resistance. The comparison between calculation and towing model test indicates that this method is accurate.Through endeavor of the people in engineering field, the bucket foundation platform will apply itself in a short period of the advantages of mobile, short installing period and the repeatable usage in offshore projects.
