Concrete-face Rock Fill Dam is one of the main dam types of earth and rock fill dam.It is primarily made of rockfill and gravel, which is of bearing function, and at the upper side of dam, the concrete face is located, which is of antiseepage function. The concrete face dam has the advantage of low requirement for foundation, easy diversion, low cost, convenient and fast construction, etc, and it is one of the three new dam types that are popularized in current water resources and hydropower engineering.The development of Concrete-face Rock Fill Dam in our country is so fast in recent years, the altitude and scale of dam exceeded the level of world-class. we obtained valuable experience in designing and construction, also obtained many production in theory, but the breakthrough progress is not obtained now. So it is so important for studing the stresses and deformations of Concrete-face Rock Fill Dam.On the basis of analyzing the different model of dam,choosing Duncan E—B model for the FEM analysis of Sinanjiang Rock Fill Dam. And back analysis the parameter of Duncan E—B model, choosing Goodman element for simulating the cantact between the face plate and the rockfill material. and choosing the flexible element for simulating the peripheral joints and vertical joints of the concrete face. In course of programming, the"kill and active"function module of ADINA is used to simulate the reclamation process of dam. We get stress and deformation rules and draw some useful conclusions, and the result can give example for other similar project.
