Jiangpinghe concrete faced rockfill dam (CFRD), with a height of 219m and a volume of 703.54×104m3, is located at the upper reaches of Loushui river. The dam construction process, consisting of various interactional construction steps, is very complicated. With the system simulation technology, planners can simulate the construction process and get the important parameters easily. The results give the advanced technical support to construction organization design for Jiangpinghe CFRD. Based on the previous studies, improvement is made in Cycle Operation Network (CYCLONE) modeling, system simulation modeling and simulation methods, combing system simulation, object-oriented simulation modeling as well as database technology, and is proved to be effective and practical by applied in Jiangpinghe CFRD construction simulation. The main contents and achievements of the paper summarily listed as following:Firstly, in order to carry out graphic modeling, CYCLONE model library is developed on the platform of Microsoft Visio 2002 with ADO database access technology. The method enhances the efficiency and precision in CYCLONE modeling.Secondly, based on the systematic analysis to the construction processes of CFRD, a system modeling framework for CFRD construction is built by using the technology of object-oriented simulation. The methodology of simulation modeling course for Jiangpinghe CFRD is expatiated.Thirdly, contrapose the lack of consideration for dynamic uncertainties in previous researches, the thought and program realization of real-time dynamic simulation for CFRD is proposed in this paper. It makes the simulation system more practical.Finally, based on the ideas above, with a new design pattern based on component/framework, the RDSIM_JPH system is developed by OOM and VC++. The system provides a useful analysis tool to understand the complex CFRD construction system and makes the construction organization design more scientifically.
