Lianghekou Hydropower Station, each kind of construction of which has a huge excavated volume, with a 295m-high and 4100×104m3-volume rockfill dam with core(RDWC), is located at the reaches of Yalong river in Sichuan Province. Traffic and transport process, with compact means of transportation, consisting of various influencing factors and complex relationship, is very complicated. With the system simulation technology, planners can simulate the traffic and transport process and get the important parameters like rate of traffic flow, queue probability of fork and utilization rate of road without heavily caculation. Also, the simulation technology has advanced the accuracy of traffic and transportation plan. The results give advanced technical support to construction organization design and good direction to construction management for Lianghekou RDWC. Based on the previous studies, improvement is made in simulation strategy for the charactors of high variety of materials, large capability, complex system of transportation, high variety and quantity of cars, low productivity of transportation etc., combing visualization technology, object-oriented simulation modeling as well as database technology, and is proved to be effective and practical by applied in Lianghekou RDWC construction simulation. The main contents and achievements of the paper summarily listed as following:1. By using the simulation modeling technology to construct the simulation model of traffic and transport process in the RDWC. And give out the modeling process of the traffic and transport system indetail.2. RDTSIM_LHK simulation software is developed by VC++. The software provides a useful analysis tool to understand the complex RDWC traffic and transport system and make the construction organization design more scientifically.
