The distribution of coal resources and productive forces and the characteristics of the energy structure in China, will determine the existence of transport pattern of the North-South downwards transport of coal in a long-term. In such a situation, seaborne transportation plays a very important role, because of its large freight volume, low-cost advantages. With the growing demand for seaborne-coal supply, coal enterprises have to enhance the supply capability. Studying on the supply capability in supply logistics system, both researchers at home and abroad on the concept of the proposal or in specific quantitative research is not enough. In most cases, the logistics supply system of evaluation is comparative emphasis on logistics costs and profits. So the conclusion on the seaborne coal supply capability has a very important theoretical and practical significance.In this paper, through the analysis on characteristics of the seaborene coal supplysystem, establish evaluation index system of the supply capability. And on the basis of discrete-event simulation theory, establish a model of capability of coal supply logistics system. Evaluating and analyzing the supply capability using with the model, determine resources allocation in the port and the transport programmes to promote the supply capability. Various sections of the content are as follows:In chapter 1, firstly review the background and significance of the capability of seaborne coal supply logistics. Secondly propose the advantages of discrete-event simulation, which is the research method used in this paper. Then reviewed the study of the supply capability in the world, finally summarize the main research contents in this paper.The basic principles of discrete-event system simulation are outlined in chapter 2. Then do a short introduction about the chosen simulation software.In Chapter 3 propose the concept of the capability of seaborne-coal supply system, and establish the supply capability evaluation index of the seaborne-coal supply logistics system. Followed by the influencing factors of supply capability were analyzed. In chapter 4, establish the simulation model of specific seaborne-coal supply logistics system, and analyze the input data for model. Comparing the simulation results with actual data, validate the availability of the simulation model.In chapter 5, propose two improve programme to the seaborne-coal supply capacity in the case. Carried out the simulation and analysis, optimal select the allocation of resources in port and transport programme.The main points of this paper are summarized and the future work is suggested in the conclusion finally.
