The wind power energy is a green and protentially huge energy which can beregenerative, it has an important significance for our continuable development. Withthe policy support from our governmentand and the marketing requirement fromChina market.MW wind turbine technology developed fast and was applied to realprojects widely in China. The foreign companys have held the kernel of the MWdouble feed induction generator, this was expensive and tied up the development ofthe producer in own.This study is to research and analyze theory about the DFIG, the designprinciple of motor and a detailed account generator parameter, combining with ourample experience in producing motor, we can design the MW DFIG o f our owns.This study is based on the fundamental performance parameter of thegenerator, and calculated the main magnetic parameter.Combining withthe magnetic parameter, research the method of design calculation ofthe generator coil. We use a prototype to verify the accuracy of the theory, andbuild a simple model to analyse it. This study is also to research and analyze theoryabout the cooling system of generator, strength calculation of the shaft and thecalculation of the critical speed of generator, and analyse the application of the theory in the our production, with a prototype. We can distinguish these conclusions,whichcould come into being instructional effect for the generator designs.We use a prototype of1.7MW DFIG that its cooling mode is air-to-air as anexample.We thought much about consumers’ requests and humanism requirements inthe structure of the generator, and preliminarily confirmed the design through the testdata.
