| The general experience of station area development in each country showed that, the station area has become a pretty important urban planning place with the urban development and technique progress. Its unique combination of both characters of traffic node and urban place stimulated the development of surrounding area and pushed a new round of inner city renewal. After the sixth speed-progressing of Chinese railway system, HST (High Speed Train) stepped into normal life and changed the traditional idea of inter-city railway transportation with its speed, cleanness and less pollution. But at the same time, the image of the station and the adjacent area is still the traditional idea of out of fashion, dirty and chaotic. And unfortunately, it's just the appearance. No matter for investors or travelers, compared with the busy station and main entrance, the back side of the station is so unattractive that no one really want to come. The vacant image of the back side among normal citizen not only destroys its own developing chance and baffles the whole area from further development.With the investigation in some European station area, the thesis summarized 6 modes to overcome urban segregation situation in European station area. With the comparison of these 6 modes, the research try to establish the relationship between European station mode and the present station area development and try to find out the relating factors as well, and in the end to summarize the suitable circumstance of each mode. Taking advantage of the design principal learned from European cases, the thesis will give an urban design proposal based on the present situation of Shanghai station area and international competition, in order to deal with the segregation caused by Intercity-railway station and realize the general planning concerning local conditions On the premise of overcoming urban segregation in station area.In the proposal of Shanghai Railway Station area, those design principal and methods learned from the investigation and comparison research on European station areas are applied, which may offer new idea of overcoming urban segregation situation and realizing local development in Chinese station areas. |
