Research On Urban Public Space Planning And Design Based On Female Perspective

To rethink many problems of urban planning from a gender perspective really embodies the concern of "human". This paper is a study of women's feelings which has been neglected in the past and discussed the design of urban public space based on the perspective of women.The thesis summarized the "color-blind" background of urban public space and the objects and scope of this study, main viewpoints and innovations. It introduced the purpose and significance, as well as method on the research and identified the point of this thesis. On this basis, it also introduced the overall framework. The concepts such as female perspective, urban public space, female and planning were analyzed. Then it summarized related results and pointed out deficiencies. From a historical perspective, female space characteristics of different eras were found out. Meanwhile the thesis demonstrated urban public space planning from female perspective. The important design elements of urban public space from female perspective were explained in the fifth chapter, on three aspects with "safe ","Affinity" and "specialization" , and were analyzed by real example.The thesis just do a preliminary discussion and attempt on urban public space planning and design from female perspective. It probably provides certain references for urban public space planning and design from this unique and necessary perspective.
