With the rapid development of the economic and social, energy issues in China become to stick out. The coal resource is rich but the oil resource is poor in China. Since 1993, China began to importing oil for the first time, the amout is increasing every year. Due to the increasing international oil prices, and national development strategies, saving energy and protecting the environment and other factors to be considered, in 2000, the plan of Coal Replacing Oil was put into practice in China, so the coal gasification highrise plant appeared at the momment. In the project, the industrial equipment is large and heavy, and the plant belongs to highrise building. In order to reduce the risk of the plant in the earthquake, a thorough study about the seismic beavior of the coal gasification higahrise plant is very necessary.In this paper, steel truss as the main equipment support structure in place of the thick concrete plant. To improve the seismic behavior and the construction quality of the plant, after the parameters of the steel truss section determined and the bearing capacity checked, a finite-element time-history analysis of the coal gasification plant which main equipment with different forms support is done by ANSYS. The seismic behavior of the plant is discussed on three sites and three peak ground motion accleration . And the conclusion is carried out: after changing the equipment's support form of the plant structure,which can reduce the earthquake action of the plant and the main equipment.After the analysis, the main results are summarized as follows: (1) with different support of the main equipment, plant vertically earthquake is the weakest direction. (2) under different seismic waves use steel truss supporting the main equipment, the semic effects of the plant structure and the equipment are reduced. (3) under different peak ground motion acceleration of seismic wave, use the steel truss supporting the main equipment, the semic effects of the plant structure and the equipment are both reduced. Important conclusions of the paper are summarized as follows: (1) the support of the equipment can be changed, to adopt the steel truss structure is feasible, after changing, the structure and equipment's seismic effect are improved in different degree. (2) when the support is changed, under different seismic waves, the displacement of the top floor of the pant averagely deaease 13.6%, the base shear force of the plant averagely deaease 8.9%, the displacement of the top point of the main equipment averagely deaease 99.8%,the fixed bearing shear force of the main equipment averagely decrease10.0%; under different peak ground motion acceleration, the displacement of the top floor of the pant averagely decrease 12.1%, the base shear force of the plant averagely deaease 10.1%, the displacement of the top point of the main equipment averagely decrease 26.4%, the fixed bearing shear force of the main equipment averagely deaeasel7.7%.The results of the paper can be referenced by counterparts. The achievements have guiding significance and reference value in improving the original process of the plants, in shorting the construction cycle.
