The applicable height and height-width ratio to building structure is not only the basic define of the structural design, but also the important ingredient to conception design. Calculating the buildings'height and height-width ratio correctly , and stipulating the most applicable height and height-width ratio properly, make for selecting the lectotype to the buildings, make for grasping the structure performance integrally, make for arranging the economical efficiency to the structure design. Against several problems to conception design presently, this article mainly studies the calculated method and the most applicable number when protected intensity is 6 or 7 to the buildings'height and height-width ratio.,the calculated height of the hillside building.From this text, we can acquire conclusion as following:①The study to calculated methods of the irregular buildings'height-width ratio1) The calculated formula to the setback structure:The first setback structure's formula is .The second setback structure's formula is .The parameters mean as following: B1/B2=n,B1/B3=n1, H2/H=r,H3/H=r1 ;B1, B2 and B3 indicate the width of the bottom, the width of the fist setback section, the width of the second setback section in order; H , H2 and H3 indicate the total height, the height of the fist setback section, the height of the second setback section in order.2) The calculated formula to the cantilever structure:The unilateral cantilever structure's formula is .The symmetric cantilever structure's formula is .The parameters mean as following: B1/B2=n,H2/H=r ; B1, B2 indicate the width of the bottom, the width of the fist cantilever section in order; H , H2 indicate the total height, the height of the cantilever section in order. 3) The calculated formula to the planar irregular structure is B0 = 2-(3i)1/2≈3.5i, and the i means the least radius of gyration.②The study of the most applicable height-width ratio to buildings1) The structure stiffness, the integral stability, and the endogen force are controlled by the economical efficiency in structure design, that is to say, the economical efficiency is decisive to the applicable height-width ratio; liberalizing the height-width ratio is feasible if the economic condition is permitted.2) About the frame structure when the protected intensity is 6 or 7: The structure integral stiffness weakens gradually with increasing of the height-width ratio; the integral stability alters little obviously after changing the height-width ratio; changing the height-width ratio doesn't cause rapid change of the endogen force; and from the economical efficiency, increasing the height-width ratio causes the steels'resumption per square meter raise highly, if the height-width ratio be greater, the variable degree will be greater, liberalizing the height-width ratio need considered.3) About the frame and shear wall structure when the protected intensity is 6 or 7: When the height-width ratio is from 5 to 6, the integral stability's data, the steels'resumption per square meter and the endogen force vary little except for the structure stiffness; so liberalizing the height-width ratio properly is permitted.4) About the shear wall structure when the protected intensity is 6 or 7: The most applicable height-width ratio of the define is 6 which is almost reasonable. With the height-width ratio increases, the structure integral stiffness weakens gradually, the steels'resumption per square meter increases obviously.③The calculated height of the hillside building1) The preliminary investigation indicate: to the buildings which have different level of the outdoor terrace, if the differential height isn't obvious, the height is considered to calculate from the peak of the outdoor terrace.2) When calculating the peak of the outdoor terrace from the fire control, rescuing from the fire hazard, escaping safely, and fire truck lane should be considered.
