Recent years, electric wire and transformer of the rural power lines have been stolen occasionally, but it disturbed power supply orders, and caused severe lost to the state. On-line monitor system of electric transformer based on three detector technology is developed to fight against the theft phenomenon. This paper describes the system construction, technical features and application results in brief. This system consists of monitoring unit, supervision center and the patrolling personnel. The three detector technology and wireless picture transmission technology are firstly used against theft in power system.Locale monitoring unit is placed above electric transformer. It adopts three-detector technology to monitor those who try to stole the electric transformer, and transfer information of alarms with GPRS net. It concludes photograph taking plus compressing modules, so as to let the patrolling personnel know the field situation. Protected by this unit, this power system, transformers and wire especially, could be protected in maximum safety. The system can also protect itself safety.Mobile terminal point, such as patrolling lines person's mobile phone could receive every short massages including alarms, order of patrolling and so on that sent by locale monitoring units and management center.Management center is the computers placed at running departments with Visual Basic 6.0 of Microsoft and SQL Server2000 as background database management.The center gathers and manages the information from locale monitor units, then supplies the information to work staff so that they could monitoring each monitoring point and manage or maintain monitor data. Management center can also supply data for other system.This system is suitable for theft-preventing in distributed rural electric transformer and communicates with management center and mobile terminal point immediately, and provides completer plan for automatic control of rural power grid. Moreover, the method proposes in this paper can also use in other supervision systems, so it has a wide application foreground.
