In addition, combined with engineering practice, this text detailed operation of the system and its implementation.This system consists of two major components: the portable terminals and the communications front-end fee (Data Center).The portable terminal is base on the PC/104 mainboard, and its all functions and hardware are customized by the main use of the system and reliability, its operating system is Windows CE, an embedded system by Microsoft, and this embedded operation system can be customized by the main functions of the system too, the customizing principle is base on the system, such as Windows GUI, serial port surport, parallel port surport, and LCD drivers, etc. The main application of the portable terminal is developped by the embedded Visual C++ by Microsoft, a similar developing tool as the Visual C++ on the windows platform, anyone who is familiar with the Visual C++ can develop an application base on Windows CE operating system easily.The front-end communication is responsible for the communication between the portable terminal and the database server in the LAN in the power supply company, it is a bridge for the portable terminal to access the database and can be a good seperater between the two.The software on the front-end communication is develpped by the Visual Basic by Microsoft, and it is a really good tool for database developing.To make the front-end communication and the portable terminals communicate smoothly, a fixed IP for the front-end communication is needed, and the communication is base on the TCP/IP protocol.For the LAN, the front-end communication software developing choosed the ADO technology to realize the read and write to the SQL server.For the network between the front-end communication and the terminals, a high performance and a proper price is very important, the precept is based on the above two. The system and the PC of business lobby counters have similar functions, and the lobby of business got a better expansion by GPRS wireless network. It also resolved the current problems in the process of collecting fee in Shizuishan electricity board, so it has good prospect.
