Development And Application Of Digital Assembly Structure Design Wizard

As a key technique of the advanced design technology such as Agent Design & Virtual Design, the digital assembly design technology has attracted concerns from both academic and industrial circles in recent years. Meanwhile as an important step of digital assembly design, Structure design has become a research focus gradually. But during the course of digital assembly structure design, there aren't modules for special products'digital assembly structure design in the general CAX platforms. Furthermore, the assembly design methods are dispersed; the design experiments and knowledge can't be referred and reused reasonably, which effect products'development and improvement quickly.According to dispersed assembly design methods,the design experiments and knowledge no referred and reused reasonably, the paper develops a digital assembly structure design wizard imbedded UG system. The wizard integrates assembly design methods into a platform; a secondary development is carried out in assembly modeling, assembly constraint, assembly dimension chain and assembly interference detection. Meanwhile the wizard added knowledge including typical products'design experiments and standards, in order to be referred and reused during products design.According to the implementation of assembly structure design wizard, the paper mainly studies the key technologies during the implementation process. Also describes the global frame structure, the implementation of menu and dialogue, the implementation of assembly structure design knowledge base.In the end, a practical case of automobile servo hydraulic steering gear is given to show the use of the assembly structure design wizard, also verify the research contents and methods.
