The ship segmentation assembly plays a very important role in the whole process ofshipbuilding. The application of virtual simulation can significantly shorten the constructionperiod, find the unreasonable aspects of the construction in advance, reduce the rework rates,construction cost and ensure the quality of the construction before the ship building. Tooptimize the assembly sequence of classic parallel middle body segmentation, the solutionmethod of assembly sequence optimization of ship segmentation based on self-adaptivegenetic algorithm is proposed in this paper.Firstly, the research status at home and abroad and application situation of virtualassembly technology are introduced, and then the genetic algorithm is chosen to solve theassembly sequence optimization problem of ship segmentation. The contents and expressionmethod of assembly information model and the way of coding for constructing shipsegmentation are introduced. The assembly information model of classical ship parallelmiddle body is created. Secondly, the three-dimension structure model of parallel middlebody segmentation is created by software CATIA, and then the responding geometricconstraint information of ship segmentation, including the interference relations andconnection relations, is obtained. According to the analysis of geometric and craft constraints,the target optimization system, consisting of the interference relations, the redirection times,the exchanging frequency of hoisting tools and assembly efficiency is created. Thirdly, thebasic principle and disadvantages of the genetic algorithm are analyzed. The improvedself-adaptive genetic algorithm is applied to optimize the assembly sequence, and theoptimization target is taken as the target function for calculating, which can reduce thecomplexity of the problem and promote the work efficiency of the system.At last, the overall system structure and interface function of the assembly sequenceoptimization of ship segmentation are designed and realized, and the responding optimizedassembly sequence is obtained. Based on this, the optimization outputs are analyzed and theassembly sequences of ship segmentation are verified by visual simulation, which proved therationality and correctness of the assembly sequences optimized by the algorithm.
