At present, the vibration comfort is one of the key indexes of the NVH performance and additive value of motorcycles, although there is no requirement from national standards. The vibration comfort of motorcycles is an important and troublesome problem in motorcycle industry until now.The frame is an important part of the motorcycle, and its dynamic characteristic is the key factor for the vibration comfort of motorcycle. Aimed to improve vibration performance of the motorcycles, the dynamic characteristic of the frame is carried out is this dissertation. Combining the vibration theory and the characters of the motorcycle frame, the needs of the testing system for measuring the dynamic characteristic of the motorcycle frame is analyzed and decided; finally the testing system is founded.Then the characteristic of some motorcycles frame with and without engine are analyzed by the testing system, meanwhile the finite element analysis are done with MSC.Patran / MSC.Nastran, finally the results are validated by the experimental method and FEA method. The structural optimization of the frame with engine is done with the testing system, and is validated by FEA, and then the improvement sample is trial-manufactured and validated by experiment. Through the application of the testing system on some certain frames, the testing system is satisfied with requirements and the anticipated goal, and is useful for the testing and research of motorcycle of our company in future.
