| Safety is an eternal theme for civil aviation. For airlines, scientific reliability management for maintenance is an important approach not only to guarantee safety and reliability, but also to decrease maintenance cost, improve company general competitive ability and implement the balance of safety, reliability and economic benifits.The thesis is aiming at solving the critical problems in reliability management for maintenance, i.e. management method and strategy of reliability maintenance at airlines. The primary work of this thesis includes:(1) Studied the reliability analysis methods of aircraft components, which include scope of reliability and prediction method. A reliability analysis model is created based on Bayes which can optimize reliability analysis and provide solid data and theritical foundation.(2) Six-sigma was introduced into the process of aircraft reliability management for process optimization. We had some basic discussion on the difference between traditional reliability process management and aircraft components reliability process management based on DMAIC. From which, the advantages of using Six-sigma for reliability process management were concluded.(3) Developed the maintenance strategy of aircraft components. Considering the physical characteristic, safety and economic demands of components, we set up the age-dependent maintenance policy, periodic maintenance policy, sequential maintenance policy, failure limit policy and inspection model to optimise the maintenance periods at lower cost and higher reliability.(4) Discussed the implementation of aircraft reliability analysis system for maintenance, and proposed a new working mode for aircraft components reliability analysis system, which combined professional statistical analysis software and airline's database system.(5) The practical application at Shanghai Airlines has demonstrated the validity of reliability maintenance management presented in this work.
