Now days, as the changes of concept of consumer, modern product design has changed too. It oriented by the mental requirement of consumer, not the function prior-consideration as before. Kansei engineering is a technology, theory and method, which transforms feelings and images of the product into design elements. Its objective is to design products according to the feeling and requirement of users. It can transform fuzzy and perceptual requirement into clear and detail design factors. Hence, it will play a more and more important role in the future design activities.This thesis primarily works on the application of Kansei Engineering in Computer Aided Industrial Design, and makes some exploration in the new expression of design. Firstly, the thesis illustrates the definition of Kansei Engineering and the frame theory. It then brings out the definition of Kansei Image. Besides, the thesis explains how the Kansei Image form and what characteristics it has. Secondly, the thesis discusses the relation between Kansei Image and product modeling features based on the reality of these two. After that the thesis uses some statistics methods such questionnaire, semantics-difference and factor analysis, etc based on the theory of Kansei Engineering. Then it can derive the representative adjective pair. It also sets up the quantization relationship between Kansei Engineering and modeling features. In the end, the thesis uses the adjective as the plug-in panel element. This plug-in developed as the use of modification of bottle shape and image evaluation of the bottle current status. It is developed according to the conclusion which derived through above work, with the 3ds Max SDK (Software Development Kit) development environment. The thesis uses this plug-in to verify the correctness of the mapping between images and modeling features, it also want to give some new respective in software development of Industrial Design.
