In the modern consumer market, especially the daily products, the aesthetic function of product has become one of the most important factors that influence consumers deeply. The systematic way and complexity of the modern technology, as well as the diffused effect of technology, make the products have the same technical level and application function in which they are competing in the mature market. In this case, their personalization and fashion become the consumers'decisive factor to buy products, and the product appearance is the most way to reflect personality. Therefore, the ability of industry design has become one of the important competitiveness, which many enterprises pay more and more attention to.This paper aims at developing the product image styling design method based on market positioning and consumers' demand, which will make the product appearance more suitable for the consumers'emotional requirements. It includes two parts. The first is to explore the consumers'preferences to product form with Kansei Engineering method, which includes applying the morphological analysis to extract product form factors, doing the market research though SD questionnaire survey and obtaining the research results with statistical analysis. The quantification theory type I is applied to research the mapping relationship between the product form elements and the consumers'kansei image. The second is to study the man-machine interactive product image form design method based on genetic algorithm. The advantages of designer and computer are analyzed. Then the product shape elements are encoded, the coding strings are genetically operated with appropriate crossover method and mutation method, and the designers who integrate with the analysis result of the quantification theory type I in the first phase can judge and select the evolution shape. So back and forth, the innovative form will be found and the design method is developed.The quantification theory type I and the man-machine interactive product image form design system based on genetic algorithm are programmed with VB and the goblet form design are taken as the study example,which shows that the method is feasible and practical.
