Because of fierce competition of industrial products, people start to realize the importance of design in product life. Product life cycle is made up with four parts: design, production, market and use. How these parts are measured determines the product value. The key point of design function integration is how affection needs of users are explored and applied in product life cycle. And Kansei image of products is an effective method of affection needs measurement. The topic of this study is Kansei image of product’s form in design and market settings. Firstly, the study can help to map product form and customers’ affection. Secondly, the study may give advice for increasing purchase decision during market part.Study One explores Multi-Kansei Engineering. Based on the cognitive characteristics of users, the research came up with a Multi-Kansei Semantic Space, in which products were classified into several groups stood for different multi-Kansei images. Besides, a multi-Kansei Engineering System was built with Support Vector Machine. The system was used to map relationship between product form characteristics and multi-Kansei images. This system can be applied to help product designers to deal with users’ multi-Kansei product requirements.Study Two investigates the Kansei recognition of product form as well as product name in market stage. The research explores whether the Kansei images of product form and name match each other would influence purchase decision. Several hypotheses were built based on study background and were tested by experiments. The results show the mugs and their names with same Kansei tendency and the sets with different Kansei tendencies can lead to different impacts to buying inclination.This research explores Kansei Affection of Product in Product Design and Market Settings, therefore, helps to fulfill customers’ affection needs.
