Research On Relation Between Product Design And Logistics Cost

Recently, with the development of global economy, the logistics has been the third profits source, people attach more and more importance to the issue of logistics costs, How to efficiently control the logistics cost? This is a hot issue, but also a difficult issue. Up till now, the research on logistics cost is focused on the operation of products and services, but control in the product design phases are less, and has not yet formed the systematic theory, however, research also indicates that 80 percent of the cost of the product has been confirmed at the design stage, so the paper is the research of relation between product design and logistics costs of a systematic point of view under previous research, in order to more effectively control the logistics costs.Firstly, the thesis discussed logistics cost and product design at the theoretical level, then discussed the factors for logistics cost, and systematically found out the product design has a great influence on logistics cost, in addition, studied the relationship between product design and logistics cost on this basis; Secondly, with supply chain cost management and comprehensive evaluation, we studied on logistics cost management in the product design phases. In the supply chain cost management method, we established the reasonable cost of products by Target Costing, then divided the logistics operation and improved the work flow by ABC, we studied how to mange logistics cost in the product design phases by comprehensive application of TC and VE; Product design project are compared by make use of the comprehensive evaluation, with optimum scheme chosen from the view of technology, economy and rationality. Whether supply chain cost management or comprehensive evaluation, their ultimate purpose is to achieve product optimal design of function and cost. Finally, with IKEA case studies and theories, this paper explained the theory how to apply in practice; its emphasis is on study of relationship between product design and logistics cost, as well as logistics cost management in the product design phases of IKEA.At present, enterprise mangers still cannot system use the relationship between product design and logistics costs to effectively control the logistics costs, this paper system discussed the theory, makes application analysis with a practical example (IKEA) that hope to be to the aftertime has the help.
