Because of its own unique advantages and performance characteristics , strap-navigation system are being more and more attention and widely used. but, For a long time, Because of the processor restrictions , SINS, who have high demand On the size and weight ,have not get breakthrough progress . It limits the prospects for the development and application areas .Based on these reasons, an embedded system of SOPC+DSP6713 and its application in navigation field is proposed in my dissertation.NIOSâ…¡microprocessor which is developed by Altera Inc. based on SOPC technology is a changeable, general RISC CPU. The developer can conveniently design the system by using SOPC Builder. Furthermore, the NIOSâ…¡soft core, Avalon bus and its peripheral interface system can be configured according to his own requirements. TMS320C6713, produced by TI corporation, is a high performance float-pointing DSP which adopts a VLIW instruction structure and can work on 225MHz with the highest speed of 1350MFLOPS, 1800MIPS. the system uses Altera Cyclone series EP1C12Q240I7 FPGA CMOS chip embedded NIOSâ…¡32 soft-core as a control CPU, TI's DSP6713 as floating-point coprocessor, Working together to buildup navigation computer system. This system takes advantages of fast processing speed and strong flow point data processing capability of TMS320C6713 and powerful control ability of SOPC. ADS8364, a high accuracy AD converter, acquires three gyroscope signals and three accelerometer signals. The SOPC starts the conversion of A/D and reads the converting results. After a sample processing, the acquired results is stored in TMS320C6713 DSP via HPI port of DSP for further resolving. DSP called the SINS algorithm to resolve the data and the results is sent to host computer at last. The parameters of SINS is transferred by McBSP of DSP.Research shows that this program is effective in improving calculating speed and accuracy of the computation, reducing the size and cost of power, and has a better value, market prospects and military significance.
