Microwave Humidity Sensor (MWHS) is a important payload of FY-3 satellite, which is the new generation meteorological satellite. Data processing and control unit is an important part of FY-3 satellite microwave hygrometer Sensor (MWHS). Its work includes data acquisition and processing, communication with 1553B bus, controlling the state of satellite According to the results of receiving orders.With the continuous development of micro-electronics and unceasing improvement of FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array) technology, SOPC (System On a Programmable Chip) technic has gradually become the new development direction of embedded system.After thoroughly collecting and investigating the latest literature in the field of SOPC, in this thesis we choose FPGA embedded MC8051 processor soft core to construct the demanded SOPC system. This system meets the application requirement of the data processing and control unit of WNHS.In this paper, we introduce the System components and functions of WMHS, the communication protocol of 1553B and the BU-65170 communication chip. We also introduce the basic structure and character of MC8051 processor soft core, and how to design it. We emphatically illuminate the structure and design process of SOPC hardware, design proposal and flow of application software. At last we implement the system and verify it.Comparing to traditional design, the SOPC of this paper has greatly decreased the number of chip, and improved the reliability of the system. It is easy for us to realize, upgrade and transplant the design. The system has strong adaptability and good extensibility. The design has met the key design requirements of the data processing and control unit of WNHS.The results in this thesis provide some experience and technical foundation for SOPC system's application on aerospace.
