The micro-gas turbine power system has been used widely as an important spare power source in different military purposes and all kinds of emergency facilities. With its high speed and high temperature service conditions, the strength and the vibration characteristics of the turbine impeller have attracted much attentions. Improving the reliability of the impeller, the sudies of their characteristics are of great engineering significance. In this paper, the analyses of the impeller strength and vibration of 100kW micro-gas turbine were investigated using finite element analysis software ANSYS.First, the strength of the impeller's initial design was calculated, the results shown that it is unsafe. Then, the redesign of the impeller structures was carried out. As for the centrifugal force load and heat stresses from temperature gredient, the computation results show that the redesign impeller strength satisfied the demands. At last, The impeller's intensity was calculated using the cyclosymmetry stress analysis method also. The analyses arrived at that cyclosymmetry stress analysis method can be used instead of the integral wheel computations to improve the calculattion efficiency. The vibration analyses concluded the safety spare is enough. The test was carried out; and the comparison of calculation values and test values were almost the same.It can result in that the calculations presented in this paper are feasible and reliable.
