Cardiovascular disease is one of the major diseases that threat human health, whereas the ECG detection is an effective method to diagnose heart diseases. The efficient acquisition and the real-time transmission of ECG data are the foundation of an accurate detection. Therefore, it is of great significance to design an ECG acquisition and remote transmission system with reliability, low price, small size for the diagnosis and prevention of cardiovascular disease. This article works on the design and implementation of an ARM-based ECG acquisition and Ethernet transmission system, and prior to which is in-depth study of the technologies of ECG acquisition and Ethernet transmission. The front-end of the system is the signal conditioning circuit, which is designed with the utilization of electronic devices such as AD620, LM324, ADOP07, etc., and realizes the extraction of high-quality ECG data. The key circuit of the system is the A/D conversion module and the Ethernet interface module, which is designed by using 32-bit ARM7TDMI-S LPC2210 microcontroller as core, and combining with Ethernet control chip RTL8019AS, Flash SST39VF160, SRAM IS61LV25616AL, and it establishes the whole hardware foundation of data acquisition and transfer. Besides, this thesis also completes the transplant of the real-time operating systemμC/OS-II on the LPC2210, and realizes the system TCP/IP protocol stack. Finally, the thesis designs the system application with the using of multi-tasking method.By validating the ECG signal data received by the remote PC, the result shows that the system has realized ECG acquisition and its transmission over Ethernet. It has achieved the purpose of remote ECG monitoring.
