Along with the rapid development of economy, and China's accelerating urbanization process, urban capacity increases more and more. But,at the same time, urban infrastructure can't catch up with the raise of automobile and population. Many citizens living in urban areas always face the problems: waiting buses for a long time, hard to get on the buses, too crowded passengers in the buses and so on. City buses hold the balance in the city. How to plan a kind of buses which can not only adapt the infrastructure but also content people's travel needs is an important task.Market demands drive the development of science and technology. The actual situation of our cities decides the cities'transit market; this in turn decides the tide of bus technology. According to investigation on the bus running status, this paper found that buses'body layout can't suit the running capacity. If we increase capacity only by lengthening bus body or dispatching buses more frequently, the transport infrastructure will bear a huge pressure. On the premise of not lengthening the bus body, this paper bring forward a project for the buses that own short rear overhang and long axle base to improve stand area in the vehicle.Nowadays city buses are facing two big problems: first, oil become scarcity and the price become higher and higher; second, increasing environment stress forces the government to establish more rigid automobile exhaust standards. As an energy saving and emission reduction project,Hybrid Electric is likely to mass-producing in recent years.Based on the demand of short rear overhang and long axles, combining with the advantage of Hybrid Electric , according to Zhong-tong hybrid electric city bus LCK6120GHVE,this paper bring forward the project of series hybrid electric vehicle with short rear overhang and long axle base.
