Software's Design And Implementation Of Highway ETC System Based On Radio Frequency Technology

This thesis bases on the Electronic Toll Collection Project of Arrisen Technologies(Shanghai Branch).The definition of Intelligent Transportation System is combining the computer science, communication technology, sensoring technology and electric technology with traditional transportation theory. The organic combination of these advanced technologies with tradition brings perfect solution to all kinds of problem existing in traditional man-controlled transportation management(etc. the bottle neck of high way entrance).Due to the reason that people's daily life, work, studying all closely relate with transportation, efficient transportation management can make our daily life much more efficient.Electronic Toll Collection is an electronic automatic toll system used in road, bridge and tunnel, which is being researched and promoted internationally. In ETC technology, On-Board Unit exchanges information with Road-Side Unit automatically, center controlling computer can identify vehicle user according to information gotten from OBU, then deduct toll from vehicle user's bank account, the most obvious advantage of ETC is tolling without stopping vehicle, this can increase the processing efficiency of Toll Station and the capability of toll road dramatically.Intelligent Transportation System must have a practical solution of communication technology, it's the core of ETC. Dedicated Short-Range Communication is a main communication protocol which is used broadly in international ITS field. This protocol defines two units: On-Board Unit and Road-Side Unit, all communication in it bases on these two units. Nowadays this protocol is mainly uses in ETC, and ETC mainly focuses on highway ETC. Lots of European countries and America and Japan have accomplished ETC implementing either partly or totally. Here in China We are also pressing on with the research and test job, and researching and constitute the DSRC Protocol fits our national circumstance as well.This thesis introduces detailed contend of DSRC Protocol, analyze OBU, RSU, interface between OBU and RSU, RSU and PC as well.
