As the uppermost component of Beijing Radioactive Ion-beam Facility (BRIF), the 100MeV cyclotron, CYCIAE-100 requires main magnet with not only extraordinary mechanical precision in order to meet the magnetic field requirements but also enough strength to guarantee security. In addition, as the main body of the cyclotron, the main magnet may cost dozens of millions and must be designed and constructed with no severe mistake. In order to degrade the project's risk, mechanical analysis with ANSYS is performed to simulate the deformation and stress of the main magnet due to gravitational, magnetic and vacuum forces.The main magnet consists of more than ten thousand parts, so simplification of the model without degrading the precision is required. Contact and friction between parts must be introduced into the mechanical analysis of the assembly. 45 degree model is enough and in calculation of distortion of the mid plane, the model should consist of both the above and the below part. Then an analysis of the deformation of the gap of CYCIAE-30 and comparison with the measurement are contained, proving that considering contact is necessary and using contact to model effects between bolts and parts in ANSYS can reach the needed precision.The main magnet has several blue prints. Calculated mechanical distortions and stresses experienced by two structures of main magnet will be presented and compared with the results in COSMOS. In ideal case, from the distortion aspect, the one that yokes encircle the lid is better than that yokes support the lid. Results in two softwares match very well, showing that both of them have good performance when modeling contact.In addition, other parts of which the cyclotron is made up also have to be simulated. The deformations of one piece lid and combined lid are offered and they are close. So both structures are doable from the deformation point.The main characteristic of this paper is that contact is contained in cyclotron's mechanical analysis, which can lead to more accurate result.
