Research On The Ontology Integration In Project Management

Integrated project management has been paid more and more attention in modern project management. The focus is on quality, cost and schedule--- the major aspects of engineering project targets control. These three aspects have been the important content on each progress of project and also the core tasks of each unit in the project construction. Moreover, they are mutually interacted.The integrated management of quality, cost and schedule can help improve the consistency of data provided by each function department, which is conducive to increase the understanding between the participators from various projects, between the human and the computer, and between computers. To achieve this goal and intelligentize project management, this thesis employs"Ontology"as a communication or exchange agent between each management filed.This thesis constructs a framework of engineering project management integration. Based on studying the construction, mapping and learning of ontology, there are several major points discussed and studied:The background of engineering project management and its integration, as well as the interrelated theory of ontology, including ontology definition, classification and description, ect are introduced. The method of domain ontology construction, the ontology integration method based on semantic similarity, the ontology learning method based on document analysis are discussed; Then, these methods are used as three modules in the framework. The system proof-test has been implemented at last. From the experiment results, the strongpoint and drawback of our methods are concluded, which will guide our future research direction.
