More than ten years construction and operation show that the high-grade asphalt concrete pavement is still plagued with serious problems. Ultra thin asphalt concrete (UTAC) is a new pavement material originated in France in the 1980s, which has been widely adopted abroad and conducted a preliminary application in China rely on its good performance on waterproof, sliding resistance, Evenness, noise reduction, and other functions, But it seems that there are some contradictions between the thickness of thin, small size and both requires a better anti-slide properties and compaction properties, Therefore, the special research of grading, aggregate, asphalt, filler and the rational combination between these are required. Ultra thin asphalt pavement structure is composed of thick, high-intensity semi-rigid base and ultra thin asphalt concrete surface, which refers to the "high intensity base and thin surface " theory. For the rare application of UTAC in highway, its mechanical response research is blank.A study is started on ultra thin asphalt concrete mix design, the mechanical response of ultra thin asphalt pavement structure, structures and material value optimization, which is based on recent interrelated research. First, UTAC mixture formation mechanism and grading are studied, and the optimize measures are found by the UTAC mixing ratio design study mixed with orthogonal design means. Then ultra thin asphalt pavement structure mechanics response analysis is strated by using the finite element method when acted on non-uniform vertical and horizontal loads, inspecting the extent of the impact under different load analysis indicators, the research also focuses on the different structure impact with different combination of ultra thin asphalt pavement thickness and modulus and other parameters, and ultra thin asphalt pavement structure rationalization value is put forward. Finally, based on the performance, the ultra thin asphalt pavement materials and structural unified design theory is discussed.Through the study, for the dense UTAC mixture on which ratio of filler to bitume has a great influence, it is found that broken gradation of coarse aggregate is usually adopted, much coarse aggregate is not the more the better, ratio of fine to coarse aggregate should have a reasonable proportion. Parameters'changes is the most complex to the maximum shear stress of surface, horizontal loads and overloading have different degree impact on the deflection, the maximum principal stress of semi-rigid underside and the maximum shear stress of asphalt surface. The influence on the deflection value, maximum principal stress values is total thickness and modulus of similar layers chiefly, next is the composition of the modulus and the thickness of similar layers. As there is no control sieve between 4.75 and 9.7mm, a large number of coarse aggregate gradation is out of control, and a big difference of mixture void is resulted in.
