The pipeline layer engaged in laying pipeline in ocean is the contribution of vessels. Its mooring system is common with most of ships' in the restrictions of the ship body movement. On the other hand, it is different from the others that it has a characteristic—mobile mooring. To ensure the process of laying pipeline smoothly, the velocity of pipeline layer is lower. So it has to make the shop move in withdrawing and releasing the anchor cable using the winches. The external environment factors and the mobile mooring system have a great influence on the construction of the pipeline layer. Therefore it is necessary to analyze the mobile mooring system.The mooring system of pipeline layer is a multi-anchor complex system. It is not applicable to analyze and calculate on linear theory, because the chains are different from rigid structure. Catenary theory is used to analyze the characteristic of single chain. On this basis, taking into account the cable constraint and coupled with each other, this paper analyzes the unknown outside force when the displacement has happened. And the number of mooring was discussed about the stability of the ship.With the water depth increases, it is obvious that the cable is impacted by dynamic factors. The article analyzes the dynamic response when single chain is forced by the flow, and discusses the change of pipeline layer's location after cables are stretched by drag force. In wave condition, there are six freedom component motions. It is discussed that the tension of chain end is impacted by the component motions.The mooring system of the pipeline layer often need to move and position. If it is controlled by the manual, it costs more time and labor. It is essential that automation is adopted in the mobile mooring system of pipeline layer. In this thesis, the mooring is modeled in pipeline layer constructing, and the formula of motion and deviation are deduced.Some programming diagrams are given in this paper because of some content need to program. Reliable results are obtained based on some examples. Finally the development of the mobile mooring system is discussed.
