SMA pavement possesses fine high-temperature stability, fatigue property as well as satisfactory anti-skid performance. In the end of the last century, many large span steel bridges use double deck SMA as pavement structure, such as Humen bridge, Xiamen Haicang bridge, E,gongyan bridge etc. As a result of the inclement working conditions and its complicated stress feature, The pavement appearances many problems. But in company with the continual recognition of SMA, the technology is getting fully-fledged gradually. At present too many long span steel bridges are constructing quickly,now we summarize and do research in SMA pavement technology, which is very useful and important to the large steel bridge deck pavement construction.This article carries out large summary of SMA pavement according to several large span steel bridges which use SMA pavement, contrasts the experimentation, design index, the materials used, final performance etc.At the same time we analyze structural grouping, waterproof system as well as astypical disease, we propose a series of improvement measure to SMA pavement. In order to contrast the influence of the adulterate to mixture behaviour,we choose five kind testing programs,and carry out correlative performance test,the result proclaim using high viscosity modified asphalt with the addition -lignin fibre, mekralon as well as agent to resist rutting project, which possesses optimal high temperature stability,water stability, through composite beam protracted test, also we get the result that the fatigue life of high-viscosity asphalt matched with variety adulterate is the longest, so we recommend the project to carry out in Xiamen Wushi Road Tianyuan Bridge steel pavement engineering.We select 5 kind common gradations, and we use high-viscosity modified asphalt, incorporation different projects, contrast respective performance. At last we know clearly that SMA has high temperature and fatigue property outcome. This article also selects several asphalt binders: high viscosity modified asphalts, TLA lake asphalt and Epoxy asphalt. We carry out optimization about SMA pavement used asphalt binder, after a series of composite performance contrast, we know that: Epoxy asphalt possesses satisfactory high temperature and water stability, and the high temperature property of the TLA lake asphalt is equal to that of the high viscosity modified asphalt. From the result analyses of beak fatigue test we know that, the fatigue property of TLA lake asphalt is much better than that of high viscosity modified asphalt.In order to compare the influence of mixture performance, we apply statistical software Spss13.0 to carry out significance impact analysis, the result proclaims that asphalt influences pavement high-temperature stability greater than gradation. As to influence of fatigue property, asphalt influences much greater than gradation. As to the influence of the mixture water stability, asphalt and graded incidence equivalence, and asphalt incidence a little bigger. According to the conclusion of analysis of variance, in order to enhance steel flooring SMA pavement high temperature and fatigue property, first we should choose preferable asphalt binder, secondly adjust mixture gradation.At last this article optimises different kinds of textural association projects, and carries out composite beam protracted test, we recommend the project: Epoxy asphalt&SMA gradation with lignin fibre with Epoxy asphalt&American gradation below, which possesses best satisfactory fatigue stability, also we know that TLA has longer fatigue life and high viscosity modified asphalt. In conclusion this article carries out economy contrastive analysis, recommend project: Epoxy asphalt&SMA gradation with lignin fibre with Epoxy asphalt&American gradation below.
