This article analyzed the current situations of WIM system which had been applied in home and oversea, pointed out the potential problems of this system, and then stated the relevant improvement measure which was certified by test.Axle load weighing is used in this paper for the research of the WIM system. The various factors affecting the measure definition were analyzed. As a result, besides the influence of static weighing, a series of dynamic factors, such as the vehicle speed, the vibration, and the unsmooth ground also have critical effect on the measure definition. Moreover, this result built up a significant foundation for the sensor choice, the data acquisition system design, data transmission system improvements and weighing algorithm.Compared with the advantages and disadvantages of the weighing sensor, piezoelectric quartz weighing sensor was selected as a WIM sensor, the corresponding data acquisition system was also designed and realized.In this paper, the mainstream of today's wireless data transmission technology was introduced. through analyzed and compared with these technology, Bluetooth is selected to be the ideal choice to data transmission system of the WIM system, for its advantages of low-cost, low-power, high-speed, anti-interference capability and flexibility in wireless connection. Moreover, in this paper, the system of the transfer protocol of the Bluetooth was designed; the practical application of Bluetooth technology to improve the data transmission system was identified based on the research and analysis of the deficiencies of the present data transmission systemFor the characteristics of the signal selected by piezoelectric quartz weighing sensor and the characteristics of the WIM data acquisition system, singular spectrum analysis (SSA) was introduce into the WIM data processing, the algorithm design was completed and verified. Compared to the wavelet analysis algorithm, the effectiveness of the algorithm was examined. Through analyzing the experimental results, the further research direction was proposed.
