With the development of new technology, the hybrid-ceramic bearings have been widely used because of its advantage, especially in high temperature, high-speed fields and other badly working environment. But theory and design for the ceramic ball bearing have got far behind its'using in our country. Here we introduce FEA (Finite Element Analysis) method to analyze and investigate hybrid-ceramic bearings. This paper mainly focuses on the spinning friction moment and the temperature field. The first part of the research is about the spinning friction moment of the ball bearing under axial load and high-speed rotation. Based on the contact angle which is computed by MATLAB, the spinning friction moment could be obtained; A simply FEA model could be founded to analyze it. Then comparing the result got from ABAQUS and the result computed by Matlab to prove that if the load and the boundary conditions are feasible or not.Calorific value of high-speed ball bearing is mostly caused by the spinning friction. That could be computed and used to be boundary condition of FEA model. A model for computing the temperature of high speed ball bearing with axial load is set up. To reduce the computing cost, 3D model could be translated to 2D and the heating sources could be treated as moving and the heat generation in the ball and cage through which the heat source passes is averaged on the circumferential zone. Using the process and model presented here, temperature field of a ball bearing could be obtained, and then comparing it with other papers to verify the creditability of FEA result.
