Kim Swoo Geun is a Korean first age Modern Architect whose works contain complex cultural alternation. This paper is to clarify transformation process of architect's conception and what the architect has in his mind before he creates it. By analyzing a time transformation process of design methodology, list the relevant influences to his work, through this procedure, illuminate the things that revealed it to the interrelation of'complex cultural alteration process'The reason why choose architect Kim Swoo Geun his work, received in/direct influence of western Modern Architecture during studying abroad at Japan, is proper to analyze for using'the Theory of Influence', and study how former architectural design theory develop to his own theory.In this study the main issue is consisted by three chapters. In chapter two, elucidate the subject that researching conception of architect is design methodology. Through studies how architect move on with his idea, which is proper system for designing and assuming the limitation of design essence and its scope, discuss the method of application in actual designing and how to apply new design method and technical procedure.In the third chapter, it discusses the surroundings and education of his growth: influences composing his work, relation between images of his childhood and architectural expression, and discuss procedure complex cultural alteration during 9 years of study abroad at Japan, social relation attaining'Korean beauty', and the procedure of making his architectural language and philosophy.In the fourth chapter, based on Harold Bloom's'the Theory of Influence', concentrating in complex psychological struggle and his architectural expression style, analysis the change in his style and conceive characteristics by critic composition of the Theory of Influence which combined of Psychology and Rhetoric.Though the process of study up to date, a conclusion followed :The first, unconscious experience of space in his architectural expression comes out with'architectural ego', and furthermore, it expands to the world in the name of'architectural ego of Korea or tradition'.Second, the influence from Yoshimura Junzo and Tange Kenzo during studies at Japan, in variable ways it appears in his early works; in the point of views, some elements can be seen more superior, or merger to his design theory. Through these kind of cultural alternation, he got clear aim, it made possible to make new ideal shape of Korean architecture in this age, and it gave a birth of his design principle and'Womb space'which is the base element of creation; spontaneously, it expressed concretely in his work. With clear purpose, without any discrepancy it appears consistently.The end, the theoretic structure of comparison criticism Anti-thetical Criticism present another possibility for contemporary Korean architecture; it is that Korean history of acceptation Western Modern architecture, in other words, it is the answer of question what compositional relation made between Western architectural conception and that of Korean. Cause of historical characteristic occasion, Japanese occupation and Korean war, Western Modern architecture that couldn't be accepted in subjective way independently, by Kim Swoo Geun, how accepted and settled in Korea through certain transforming procedure are known.
