Today, the relationship between residential layout and the quality of life has received more and more attention, and the situation is the same with Chinese traditional geomantic theory (Also call Feng-Shui). Some specialists, however, have argued that the Geomantic Omen has no scientific systems, it's just a superstition. The idea, which the modern geomancers think that Feng-Shui has a great relationship with architecture, is completely pseudoscientific. The author thinks if we want to do away with the superstition, we need to get a whole understanding of it, or the argument will be unjustifiable. The traditional Geomantic Omen has its own invulnerability in Logic. The core proposition of the theory is - the relationship between the planning and layout of Constructions and the numerological index of the residents - whether these two match or not will apparently affect one's quality of life, for example, health, income, promotion and family harmony. The reliability of this proposition obviously can be verified through the modern empirical research method with mathematical statistics. This research chose seven most important indexes in traditional Geomantic Omen theory, including fit-score with numerological index and number of floors, the face of Master Bedroom's door and bed, the face of seats in the living room, the house location in the housing estate, and the condition of surrounding mountains and rivers of the housing estate. Questionnaire, as the most-commonly-used approach in quantitative studies, has been adopted together with the method of mathematical statistics in order to analyze the matching fitness. The positive analysis obtains the following results,1. The four aspects of the residents' life quality all present distinct influences withthe fit-score with numerological index and number of floors, i.e. the higher the fit-score, the better life the residents get in the four aspects.2. The higher score of the face of seats in the living room, the better of theresidents' state of income and promotion situation.3. Besides which mentioned above, other distinct influences mentioned ingeomantic theory didn't have been confirmed in this research.Considering the results above, part of the propositions in Chinese traditional Geomantic Omen has been confirmed. How much the research result meant is that it can give a convincing support for geomancers to make advices for these home-buyers. Moreover, in the theoretical level, the staged achievements of the research make a first scientific test for Geomantic Omen. This is a forceful support to the logical structure of Chinese traditional Geomantic Omen, and is also offering a new direction for the research and development of Geomantic Theories. On the other side, we also need to notice that not all the propositions in Geomantic Omen have been confirmed in this research. This indicates scientific test is necessary for the development of the experiential Geomantic Omen to reject the dross and assimilate the essence.
