Basalt fiber(BF),melted with natural basalt ore in 1450~1500℃,then wiredrawed through platinum-rhodium alloy leak board,is a new concrete strength material which has natural compatibilities and predominant mechanical properties.And it is a natural inorganic non-metallic material praised as a non-contaminative and omnipotent fiber in 21st century.Basalt fiber reinforced concrete(BFRC) of which has good mechanical properties was made with basalt fiber wrapped with grout and then mixed with concrete.Based on plentiful tests and theoretical analysis,the research of mechanical properties,pavement performances of plain concrete(PC),BFRC and Layered Hybrid Fiber Reinforced Concrete(LHFRC)(steel fiber and basalt fiber mixed) are studied.The research work and main important results are as follows:1.The compressive strength,splitting tensile strength,flexural strength of the concrete are studied by different volume of basalt fiber(1.2 kg/m~3,1.5 kg/m~3,2.0 kg/m~3).It holds that with the dosage increase of basalt fiber,the compressive strength especially the early strength of BFRC enhanced clearly,so do the splitting tensile strength,flexural strength.2.The flexural toughness of BFRC and LHFRC are studied.It is showed that, for BFRC,the BF has no effect on the flexural toughness of concrete,even slightly lower.However,the flexural toughness of LHFRC has a good improving relative to PC.3.With the help of SEM pictures,the microstructure of BFRC in two different construction methods(mixing fiber directly,mixing fiber wrapped with grout) is compared,and the strength mechanism is analyzed.It is showed that, when the fiber was wrapped with grout firstly,the status of basalt fiber adhered to cement paste is well,and the porosity ration of concrete is low.The mixing method of wrapping BF with grout is effective.4.Finite element analysis model of LHFRC is set up.Under the traffic load and temperature variation,the bearing load capacity of pavement slab is studied. It holds that LHFRC shows a good meet to pavement application need.
