Foreign biological invasion is one of the four threatens of ocean ecological environment.Ocean pollution caused by the emission of shipping ballast water is more and more serious,International Maritime Organization(IMO) pay much attention to it, So IMO make G8-D2 standard of《International common convention of controlling and management of ballast water and sediments》in 2004.The standard defines compulsory execuation after 2010.How can effectively deal with shipping ballast water which meets the standard of G8-D2 is one of the hot talking and difficulties of international ocean environment research today,it exists development market of billion dolloars.This experiment primarily utilizes hydroxyl radical solution which produced by strong electric field discharge.Harmful microorganism of shipping ballast water is killed in the experimental system.This paper can be divided into three sections to introducing and analyzing.Pre-experiment primarily determines the minimum value of hydroxyl radical concentration,which can kill every microorganism including algal and bacterial,through the small-scale experiment.The systemic experiment primarily introduces the procedure and effectiveness of killing algal and bacterial in system,and this algal and bacterial are prepared of analogizing ballast water with definite concentration.Biological mechanism experiment primarily determines influence of protein,nucleic acid,saccharide,chlorophyll,vitamin B2 of algal on hydroxyl radical concentration.And it proves the principle and effectiveness of killing microorganism by hydroxyl radical.From the experiment,the author makes some conclusions.The minimum concentration value of hydroxyl radical solution for every algal within 103cell/mL is 0.520~0.572mg/L.,it basically meets the request of G8-D2.The minimum concentration value of hydroxyl radical solution for every algal within 104cell/mL is 0.598~0.650mg/L,it basically meets the request of G8-D2.Most important,it isn't recovering phenomenon within five day.For two bacterial,bacillus coli is more easily killed than enterococcus.The minimum concentration value of hydroxyl radical solution for bacterial within 103cfu/100mL is 0.390mg/L,it basically meets the request of G8-D2.and the minimum concentration value of hydroxyl radical solution for 104cfu/100mL is 0.520mg/L,it basically meets the request of G8-D2.The killing time of algal in system generally is about 6s,the killing time of bacterial in system generally is about 3s,and most important,it isn't recovering phenomenon within five day. Biologic mechanics experiment proves that hydroxyl radical has an influence on algal's protein,nucleic acid,chlorophyll,saccharine,vitamin B2.That's why hydroxyl radical can kills microorganism.Hydroxyl radical solution can effectively kill algal and bacterial in ballast water, and the result basically meets the request of G8-D2.It can settle the puzzle of demestic and foreign research.It puts great importance to dealing with ballast water effectively. And at the same time,it can provide correlative foundation for land-based test and ship-board test.
