The invasion of foreign biological of shipping ballast water effects the water production and the ecological environment of the port, causes the local economy failure, even affects the human health. The·OH produced by the method of strong electric field discharge can be as active substance to treat shipping ballast water and had a better effect because it has strong oxidation. Whether the quality of ballast water and environment was changed after treated by·OH is the main point to be concerned. This thesis focused on the water quality for the ballast water after treated by·OH.The requirements of salinity, total suspended solids (TSS) and total organic carbon (TOC) were described in "Guidelines for approval of ballast water management systems" (G8) requested in G8. However, the nature seawater can not meet these requirements. To study the influence of·OH to ballast water quality, we explored methods to prepare the salinity, TSS and TOC of ballast water to meet G8. The results showed that lkg salt was put into (?)sea water, the salinity increased lpsu. When the theory amount of kieselguhr increased to 45%, the TSS met requirements of G8. Some mud water and algae with the concentration of 104 cell/ml can meet the requirements of TOC.Salinity, PH, conductance, turbidity, dissolve oxygen, oxidation and deoxidize pole, TSS, TOC, etc are the important parameters for water quality. This thesis focused on the changes of these parameters of ballast water treated by·OH. The conclusions show that salinity, PH and conductance are the basic environmental conditions of water, and there were not any changes of them in ballast water after treatment. However, turbidity improved obviously after·OH treatment, the concentration dissolve oxygen increased which improved the animation of the water. The oxidation and deoxidize pole increased greatly. But TSS reduced greatly. At the same time, TOC and dissolve organic carbon (DOC) had increased, and particulate organic carbon (POC) decreased.In this paper, the water qualities after treated in 5days were tested under the same system and condition. Test results show that there were not any changes of salinity, PH and conductance in 5 days after·OH treatment. Turbidity kept decreasing and dissolves oxygen decreased to its initial state. During the 5 days, oxidation and deoxidize pole had a great change on the first phrase, but became alleviative on the last phrase. TSS became lower because of its grave, and DOC increased while the POC decreased.The studies of·OH influencing on the shipping ballast water quality demonstrate that·OH is the best agential to deal with the invasion of foreign biological of ballast water.
