Research On The Appropriate Artificial Lighting Environment For VDT Using In The Office Space

Illuminance and luminance contrast of the appropriate artificial lighting environment was researched by psychological methods for VDT using in the office space. In a simulated office space, experimenters who use VDT at 15 kinds of different artificial light environments are researched by the method of semantic differential scale, and whose results make from bar diagram to analyze for getting the approriate illuminance, as well as the appropriate brightness of VDT; pepple who use VDT at 4 different brightness contrast of artificial lighting environments of people are researched by the method of semantic difference scale, and whose results make from bar diagrams to analyze for acquiring the appropriate luminance contrast. Psychophysical experiments state the appropriate illuninance level of the artificial lighting environment design for the use of VDT in the office space is about 5001x, the appropriate brightness of VDT is 1000 cd / m~2, the appropriate brightness contrast is 1:5:29.The levels of people's fatigue of different artificial light environments is researched by psychophysiology for VDT using in office space. In a simulated office space, experimenters who are at the resting and have worked an hour for VDT using in the environment lighting for 3501x, brightness contrast in 1:5:29 and in the absence of environmental lighting, brightness contrast in 1:138:1000, were collected ECG to analyze frequency domain indexes using heart rate variability analysis software.The results show that the LF of the rise enhanced sympathetic nervous excitement,the HF of the downward reduced vagus nervous excitement, while LF / HF also on the rise, the balance of heart rate regulation tended sympathetic nerve that play a major role. It shows that the level of the fatigue in the absence of environmental lighting is higher than in the environment lighting for 3501x.The results of the bar diagrams of psychological physiology is the same as experimental results of Physiology show that illumination in the environment for 3501x, brightness contrast in 1:5:29 more appropriate for VDT using, the level of fatigue is the lowest.From the view of points from art and design, the tone and the design of the lamp of the artificial lighting environment was researched for VDT using in the office space. Researched by the method of semantic differential scale ,cold tone of artificial lighting environment is more suitable for VDT using in the office space. The lamp of concise style is appropriate to the office space of the use of VDT; too many types of color of lamps used in the local illumination is not suitable ; metal and plastic materials are appropriate to lamps used in office space.
