Study On The Planning Of Urban And Rural Integration In Traditional Rural Areas

In recent years, China’s urbanization has accelerated constantly and the factor mobility between urban and rural areas has become more frequently; however, the overall historically-formed situation where the rural productive factors keep aggregating into urban cities has not fundamentally changed, and the gaps in income, education, medical and health care, ecology, infrastructure have continued to widen between vast rural areas and cities, which has severely hindered the country’s sustainable development of economy and society in rural areas and the whole situation of national modernization. Since the concept of ’rural-urban integration’ was formally proposed, the country has marched into a new historical stage of development in which ’industry promotes agriculture, and city leads countryside’. Being considered as the ultimate goal of balanced urban and rural development, the integration of city and countryside is an inevitable choice when a nation or a region’s economic and social development progress to a certain advanced stage. By promoting the development of urban and rural integration, a good mutual inspiring situation where the urban and rural areas develop complementarily and coordinately can be generated, which can then enhance the production development of the rural areas and make the farmers more prosperous.This essay is divided into five chapters. In the first chapter, the research background and significance are offered. Also, the research content, research purpose, research method and the technical route are given based on an overview of previous theories and practice from both at home and abroad; In the second chapter, some conceptions such as’traditional agricultural regions’and’urban and rural integration’ are illustrated, and certain relevant theories are explained, which lays a foundation for the research in the third and fourth chapter. The third chapter analyses and summarises the current four development models of urban-rural integration within the county; proposes the main content of the urban-rural integration development in the county, and presents the main problems facing the development of urban and rural integration. The fourth chapter uses Dali County of Shaanxi province as an example; analyses the development condition of urban and rural integration in Dali County and defines the weaknesses and strengths, opportunities and challenges of urban-rural integration development in Dali County. The development strategy, development ideas, development goals, strategic layout, and planning focal point of urban and rural integration in Dali County are also put forward in this chapter. Also, this chapter explores the main content of the development plan of urban and rural integration in Dali County. Through this research, the thesis hopes to provide guidance for the acceleration of the development of urban and rural integration in Dali County.
