CTCS (Chinese Train Control System) is based on Chinese national conditions and road conditions, referencing to the international standards and experience, in order to ensure the Chinese railway lines and passenger dedicated lines safely and to improve the operating efficiency of the train. CTCS is mainly from ETCS, but there are also differences between them. Currently the research and application of the CTCS-2 has more mature, so it is the time to develop the CTCS-3.Under the premise of rain operation control system of the CTCS-3, this paper briefly introduces the structure and functions of the CTCS-3 simulation and testing platform. Also it describes the functions and communication relationships among various equipments of the simulation and testing platform. The CTCS-3 simulation and testing platform is a platform mainly used for verifying testing and developing of the system. The platform also has used to research the system, compare the program and evaluate the experimental equipment. This paper mainly studies the trackside subsystem of the CTCS-3 simulation and testing platform.The main work of this paper is as follows:1. It introduces the three parts of the trackside subsystem in detail: balise module, track circuit module, switch and signal module, including the development and functions.2. This paper designs the main structure of the trackside subsystem, and regulates the communication contents among trackside and other subsystems. Basing on the extract data of the three stations: east of Xuzhou, east of Suzhou and south of Bengbu which are on the Beijing to Shanghai passenger dedicated line. It finishes the data to the easier format, not only carries out the simulation but tests it in the Borland C++ soft platform. After that it analyzes the result.3. The paper puts forward to two key simulation algorithms: the one is localization search algorithm of the balise in the CTCS-3 simulation and testing platform, and the other is the algorithm of the station track circuit occupancy. It in detail implementes the algorithms and error analysis, and testes them in the CTCS-3 simulation and testing platform. It also simulates the failure conditions which may arise in the actual running line, improving the fault setting functions of trackside subsystem, in order to simulate the failure of the actual line, such as the balise failure, track circuit failure. It provides the necessary conditions of testing the on-board equipment and RBC subsystem, and gives the testing foundation of the CTCS-3 system. Through a joint commissioning with other subsystems, the trackside subsystem has achieved the expected functions.4. Finally this paper summarizes the work, its existing problems and shortcoming, and looks forward to the future development.
