The Research Of Controller Workload In Approach Control

With rapid increase of air traffic flow,the workload of air traffic controller keeps increasing,and the controller workload is a reason of the change of airspace flight flow.So, the research of controller workload is significative to the airspace capacity,airspace utilization rate and airspace safety,and also has something to do with the training of air traffic controller and the set of the control system.In the paper,we introduce the background and actuality of the study of air traffic controller workload firstly,also the study method of air traffic controller workload;and then introduce approach control,especially the radar control,the workload of air traffic controller and its type.It makes the basis of the next research.Later,we focus on the effect factor of air traffic controller workload,and make some math model for it;finally,we take these models into actual use and validate them,and make some conclusion.During the process of modeling,we begin from the surveillance control,conflict control and coordination control.Assort the control work of air traffic controller,by the data record of air traffic controller,make sure the effect degree of every process with statistic,and express them with some value,make every control workload with the product of the value and times, then get the parameter by statistic and forecasting,and then chalk up the model.Consequently, validate the model with actual data.
