With the technology advancement and human being's progressive cognition of the ocean petroleum resources, the offshore oil exploration and exploitation are being approached from shallow water to deep water, the exploitation of deepwater petroleum is becoming the leading edge of the world oil industry and technology innovation. The pipes has to be laid during the exploitation of deepwater petroleum on the seabed, and the deepwater flange connecting tool is the specialized apparatus for the submarine pipeline laying, whose main function is connecting the flanges of the submarine pipes. This dissertation rooted in the national "863" project impotant special item "The Technology of The Submarine Pipeline Laying", of which the purpose is to develop the deepwater flange connecting tool with independent intellectual property. Aimed at such a target, the design of structure and hydraulic control system of the deepwater flange connecting tool is finished in this dissertation.The international and domestic development of the deepwater flange connecting tool is introduced in the dissertation, and the researching contents of the deepwater flange connecting tool are ascertained. The connection process of the submarine pipes and the operational principle of the deepwater flange connecting tool are analyzed in detail, and the general planning of the deepwater flange connecting tool is ascertained.The function modularizational design is adopted in this dissertation, and the three-dimensional structure design is performed with CATIA. Aimed at the key mechanism, the structure design is finished while the strength analysis of each spare part which is important for the deepwater flange connecting tool is performed with the finite element analysis software ANSYS. Considering the deepwater special environment, the influence of static pressure of deepwater hydraulic system and the technique of deepwater pressure compensation are researching in this dissertation, and the hydraulic circuit of the deepwater flange connecting tool is established in terms of its operational function, while the related parameters of hydraulic action elements are ascertained.The design of control system of the deepwater flange connecting tool is finished, and the operational flow of the deepwater flange connecting tool is analyzed in detail. Programmable logic controller control system is ascertained to be adopted while the type of programmable logic controller is choosed, and the design of control system's hardware circuit and program flow are finished.
