The Research On The Architecture Form Generated Through Non-linear Language

Static, stable and eternal characteristic of traditional architecture no long can represent the culture and spirit in nowadays. In Digital Times, more and more architectures have driven away the horizontal and vertical form and pure, identical Euclidean mode of space, and turned into the complicated, dynamic and vague non-linear feature which is with more tension and explosive force.Facing this fantastic architecture form, I begin to speculate the design methods of it. After the non-linear transformation of architecture form, what kinds of methods does it exist for form generating? And what kinds of characteristics and principles do they have? And how will these design methods develop in the future?From the phenomenon of non-linear transformation of architecture form, the article attempts to analyze the various generating methods of architecture form, to find the basic thoughts and connotation of those methods, and to rethink them and then predict their developmental direction.Combining to society, science and philosophy, the second chapter analyses the charateristics of the non-linear transformation of architecture form under new living environment, new cognition thoughts and new generating methods. These are the basic precondition of various generating methods'thoughts and concepts in later chapters. I categorize the generating methods of architecture form under the non-linear language into tow basic categories, one is Visual Expressing Method Basing on the Form Results, and the other one is Generating of Form Basing on the Creating Process.The third chapter mainly illustrates Visual Expressing Method Basing on the Form Results. And based the analysis of foundation of this method, the article puts forth four kinds of creating ways to be analysed: Instinct Sketches, Inspiration Reference of Outside Environment, Learning From Natural Forms and Graphic Expressing of Mathematic Thoughts.The forth chapter mainly elaborates Generating of Form Basing on the Creating Process. And based on the analysis of foundation of this method, the article puts forth three kinds of creating ways to be analysed: Representation of Thinking Concepts, Integration of the Field Environment and Form Generating basing on the Parameters.I rethink these methods of architecture form generated through non-linear language and put forth these opionions: the integration of non-linear languge and architecture from is an inevitable process of development. But basing on the phenomenon in architectural field, the design ways of non-linear architecture form are still in chaos. However, I believe that this chaos is inevitable to achieve an order. Meanwhile, the concern of architects on non-linear architecture form would change back from"what architectures can be"to"how exactly the architecture form can give people perceptions and experiences".
