With the progress of information technology, it require higher demand for the communication ability of the busbar protection device. As an important part of the device, on the one hand communication system is in charge of supervising the entire equipment. On the other hand, the system is a bridge of communicating with outer terminal or automation system. First, a design scheme of the hardware platform and the software platform is presented in the paper. Second, the design for main interface circuits is stated in detail. Third ,The methods of transplanting RTOS and programinng drivers for each interface are explained in detail. Finally,the realization of 103-protocol based on RS-485 and Ethernet is presented.The research have been put into real application and have good effects. Enrich communication interfaces, standard IEC 60870-5-103 and convenient locality debugging meet the practical demand completely.
