In traditional adaptive protection system, the assignment in calculation was fastened on the scheduler part. And it asked for a high communication level. So it was difficult to satisfy the demand of speediness and nicety in adaptive protection. When operate status of one section of transmission line changes, only the circumjacent relay protection settings need to be reset. An adaptive protection strategy based on circumjacent information has been proposed in view of the above situation. In addition, the protection settings should be changed since the two relay protectors act one after the other. So this article has improved the impedance matrix modifying method and the coordinated adaptive protection strategy. At last, an emulate system has been established using VC++6.0. This paper has explained the techniques to carry out each part of the emulate system. The experimental results are very positive.
