With the development of space cause, the monitor of external and internal situation of astrorocket has became an important technology of modern aerospace technology. However, the volume of traditional astrorocket is huge, and the connection is complex, resulting to more internal room of astrorocket is occupied. Therefore it is important to develop a monitor with small volume and high reliability. Because when the astrorocket launch, the amount of observed data is big. So it is important to compress the data, but the compression arithmetic is so complex that the request of the performance of the image processing system of astrorocket is high. In recent years, with the development of the technology of multimedia, a kind of new DSP was developed on the basis of high performance and generality DSP, which is media processor. Comparing with the traditional DSP, the performance of media processor in the domain of multimedia processing is more strong and convenient. TMS320DM642 (DM642) of TI company is specially designed for the application of multimedia can satisfy the high request of processing ability of monitor system of astrorocket.The task of this paper is to develop an integrated image recorder of missile, including hardware platform and software platform. First, according to the due function of recorder such as image gathering, compression, storage, transmission, built the hardware platform ,and designed the hardware circuit according to the function, including image gathering module, external expanding memory module, UART module and other module. Second, the Reference Framework 5 commonly and effetely used in the DSP of TMS320C6000 series was researched carefully. Then the software frame is built according to the function of recorder, which include several tasks. The program flow of each task and JPEG compression coding were detailed. Finally, designed the structure of recorder, described the debugging step and corresponding matters need attention. The design index of the recorder is also promoted.At present, the system has accomplished the image gathering, compression, UART transmission, high capacity picture storage. The recorder also can be used for the object recognition and telemetry through building the connection with following platform. The recorder has compact structure, light weight, complete function, reliable performance, it is possible to replace the traditional monitor. Moreover, it is it is possible to use the recorder in the each domain of space cause corresponding to the image processing for its strong transplantation and expansibility.
